I came to painting late, having studied editorial and fine art photography at University for the Creative Arts. I've always drawn and started painting intensively during the pandemic. This period of often (very) early morning walks through empty streets helped me stay connected to my environment and caused me to look at the mundane features of the city in a very different way.
I've continued my practice as the streets have repopulated, and while my paintings now occasionally include ghostly figures, I'm still interested in how the streets appear when absent of people. Working around the population has encouraged a faster approach to capturing images and painting, which can be seen in looser brush strokes and gestures over my more precise early work.
We've carefully curated a selection of works from each artist that showcases their skill and distinctive voice. Explore their creations and discover the inspiration behind each piece.

Lots of artists are now part of The Art Post collective. We will try to find an artist who is best suited for your project or commission. If you know who you would like to commission, feel free to specify the artists' name in the form.
We're asking artists to choose one notable person, place and object that has inspired them in their journey so far. We're mapping inspiration at a scale never attempted before
Person; L. S. Lowry (and Franz Kafka, and others) who held down a job at the same time as creating art. They stayed grounded with the lives of ordinary people.
I'm interested in the backstreets. The arteries that allow the city to function. The corners we discard things we don't want the world to see. The walls you stare at on a cigarette break. The unintentional traces we leave behind.
I'm fascinated by mundane architecture that is born out of pure functionality, and what this says about how we live. I consider my paintings to be work about people without the people.
We’re proud to collaborate with some of the world’s most exciting contemporary artists, bringing their work to new audiences. We’re passionate about helping them tell their stories authentically, and share their practice in creative ways.
