I am a figurative painter based in Cornwall. UK. Apart from ' A' level art, I have no formal training, my art has self developed over many years. I love to paint people from all walks of life, there is no such thing as an ordinary person, everyone is extraordinary in their own way, I like to paint intimate portraits which illustrate some of that.
We've carefully curated a selection of works from each artist that showcases their skill and distinctive voice. Explore their creations and discover the inspiration behind each piece.

Lots of artists are now part of The Art Post collective. We will try to find an artist who is best suited for your project or commission. If you know who you would like to commission, feel free to specify the artists' name in the form.
We're asking artists to choose one notable person, place and object that has inspired them in their journey so far. We're mapping inspiration at a scale never attempted before
My teacher at 'A'level is my greatest inspiration. Vincent Wilson is part of the Newlyn/Penryn School of artists, has exhibited in the Royal Academy. He is now 87 years old and still comes to the opening night of all of my exhibitions. I have his work on my walls, and he has mine on his.
I am inspired by people in places rather the places themselves. My greatest find was in Washington Square Park, NYC, where I approached an eccentric looking lady( sat alone on a bench) to ask if I could take a photo to use for a portrait. We chatted away and she turned out to be Claudia Schwalb, artist and art critic for the New York Metropolitan Art Gallery. I painted the portrait and it was bought by a collector in California.
Human form and the character within.
