After graduating with a degree in Illustration from the University of Lincoln in 2009, I explored both Fine Art and Photography before returning to pursue my life-long dream of illustrating children’s books. I largely work digitally, but occasionally return to my much-loved black tin of watercolours and box of coloured pencils. My work is inspired by nature, nostalgia and a huge helping of magic. I love creating cute characters and have a soft spot for old library books and little details.
I recently worked with the youngest American Astronaut to have ever orbited the earth, Hayley Arceneaux, on a picture book about her life and experiences in outer space. ‘Astronaut Hayley’s Brave Adventure’, published by Penguin Random House, is currently available to pre-order and will be released in February 2025.
When I’m not drawing in my home studio in Sheffield, England, you can find me sipping lattes in cosy coffee shops, jogging through the leafy suburbs with my headphones blaring, or exploring the Peak District with my husband and two small children in tow.
We've carefully curated a selection of works from each artist that showcases their skill and distinctive voice. Explore their creations and discover the inspiration behind each piece.

Lots of artists are now part of The Art Post collective. We will try to find an artist who is best suited for your project or commission. If you know who you would like to commission, feel free to specify the artists' name in the form.
We're asking artists to choose one notable person, place and object that has inspired them in their journey so far. We're mapping inspiration at a scale never attempted before
Without a doubt, the most notable person to have inspired my work so far is my daughter. After my time at University I was extremely burnt out. I spent many years trying out other mediums of creative expression, and honestly never thought I’d return to produce illustrative work again. However, after having my first child in 2016, my passion for illustration returned, largely down to the spirit of childhood that she reintroduced into my life. Being surrounded by her beautifully illustrated picture books and witnessing her fascination with them re-sparked my love for the art form and I started there.
The English countryside has to be the most notable source of inspiration for me. Twisting branches, organic textures, hints of magic - the natural world is like creative fuel when I need an inspiration boost.
Books! I am picture-book-obsessed and have quite the collection these days. Some of my favourites are ‘Mum, Me and the Mulberry Tree’ by Tanya Rose & Chuck Groenink, ‘Once Upon A Mermaid’s Tail’ by Beatrice Blue and anything that the incredible Briony May Smith creates is just *chef’s kiss.
We’re proud to collaborate with some of the world’s most exciting contemporary artists, bringing their work to new audiences. We’re passionate about helping them tell their stories authentically, and share their practice in creative ways.
