About
My name is Majken Hendriks and I am a Californian ceramisist based in Stockholm. My introduction to clay was in secondary school where I felt an immediate pull to the material. A few classes in my adolescence and many years of uninstructed exploration later, ceramics has become my dearest pursuit.
I am inspired by the expressions of people, plants and nature. Referenced with the curves of handles and warm colors of Spring. Each piece can hopefully bring a handmade whimsy and individual attitude to their forever homes.

Person
A lot of people have inspired my work and my style, most everyone I love and/or look up to. However, I would say my mother's style and aesthetic has been the largest influence on me. She was a pattern maker and made clothes with a certain whimsical and romantic elegance. Watching and learning how to curate style from her and her craft has been essential in me finding how to translate my own desires into clay.
Place
Something that exists in every place, the sky, especially at night seeing the stars! I am always inspired by how the light changes in the sky through the night and into dawn.
Object
Fruit and flowers have been the most influential objects in my work. The colors, textures, organic shapes and whimsy.
