Sandi Wilson is a professionally trained commercial photographer who discovered she could beautifully meld the art side of her photography and her painting with the depths that working in *Encaustic (beeswax and Dammar resin) could give her. She enjoys the ability to transfer images, incorporate collage and mixed media to create textural pieces. The use of cold wax and oil has given her the freedom to achieve greater color depth and movement in her compositions.
Sandi has been commissioned to do many “Bio Paintings” both by individuals and corporations with the desire to personalize their history through fine art. Some of these clients include Kevin Plank of Under Armour, Hopkins Bayview Hospital and St. John’s College High School to name a few.
Her work is collected both nationally and internationally. She paints out of her farmhouse studio in Baltimore County, Maryland where she resides with her husband.
*Encaustic medium is one of the oldest forms of painting as the Greeks and Egyptians worked with it and many examples are to be seen today such as at the Met in NYC.
We've carefully curated a selection of works from each artist that showcases their skill and distinctive voice. Explore their creations and discover the inspiration behind each piece.

Lots of artists are now part of The Art Post collective. We will try to find an artist who is best suited for your project or commission. If you know who you would like to commission, feel free to specify the artists' name in the form.
We're asking artists to choose one notable person, place and object that has inspired them in their journey so far. We're mapping inspiration at a scale never attempted before
Perhaps Monet as he was a gardener and spent many hours in it and his pond, creating it, nourishing, tending to it. Visiting Giverny a few years ago was a unforgettable experience. Monet's abstract impressionistic style working with the light and reflections truly is how I feel in my gardens, my small pond and land. I am connected to God the Creator and I feel His peace when in them.
Living in horse country in scenic Baltimore, Maryland countryside is a daily inspiration to me. Outside my studio thoroughbred horses graze on all sides on my neighbors farms. Being an avid gardener the beauty of wild flowers , the hay fields, foxes, birds that are seen from my property are a constant creative natural resource for my art.I monitor Bluebird nest boxes on our property and witnessing the building of the nests , laying of the eggs and the final flights of the fledglings never gets old!
Birds nests are a constant object I keep returning to, bees, birds, flowers, horses, fox
