About
I went to art college in the 1970's and have been a practicing artist since then, making it my full time living for 40 years. I was involved in illustration, architecture and the greetings card industry as well as persuing my own interests in painting which often coincided with my paid work. Initially I worked mostly in watercolour as it was portable and quick to dry, I became adept at architectural illustration and also house portraits and paintings of company headquarters. I exhibited in galleries at the same time showing work with a variety of subjects. I had paintings in many open shows for the Royal watercolour Society and the Royal Society of Watercolours.
In more recent years I have concentrated on oil painting as I have a studio in Sheffield, Yorkshire artspace. This has enabled me to start on projects which I was unable to do before. These include portraiture, landscapes and cityscapes. I have exhibited in many art fairs, provincial galleries, and various open shows at the Mall Galleries as well as in St Pauls Cathedral and Lichfield Cathedral.
