I was just enjoying drawing figures in spaces and messing around with shapes and ambiguous narratives in city life. I was interested in how different placing of different objects and shapes and figures would create a sense of narrative that doesn't need to be really clear but because it is abstract it invites the viewer to make sense of the drawing themselves. I was also really enjoying the textures of the work and exploring how so many different textures can be made out of one material.

01.
Person
Yann Kebbi. I’ve been his fan for a while now and I never loved someone else’s work as much as I love his! I love his playful and such diverse and skillful use of analogue materials in experimental ways.
02.
Place
It isn’t a single location, but rather the new places I visit. For example, my recent one-month residency in Busan or my trip to Rome last summer. The observational drawings I make in these new environments reflect what intrigues me, capturing my perspective as an Asian girl who has spent a lot of time studying broad in western countries. Sometimes, I even see my home country differently even though I’m Korean. I often look back at my sketchbook for inspiration, as it serves as a reference for many of my works.
03.
Object
The most notable object is my most recent sketchbook, which I carried with me in London. The pages not only capture the essence and memory of a place, people, and time but also often serve as references and a foundation for other projects or larger works. It also reminds me of how much I enjoy drawing intuitively.
